Sarajevo, signs of war
The war of Bosnia lasted from 1992 to 1995 and costed the life of approximately 100.000 people, while millions displaced and dozens of thousands of women were raped. Sarajevo remained under siege for 1.425 days in which many people died either from shelling or by snipers deployed on the surrounding hills. Today, almost three decades after the war, people try to forget and go on with their lives. However, scars both socially and economically remain. Moreover the holes from the bullets on the city's buildings are present as a reminder of the atrocities of war.
